because it was Soeur Wallace's last week with us so what a good way to
finish her mission. Also I'll be using pseudonyms for people we work
with from now on so sorry if it gets really confusing.
Miracle 1. Last week I talked about our ami that we've been working
with for several months and finally decided to give up and almost drop
us for the time being. We'll call her Naomi. Well we had a rdv with
her Tuesday and she had made us a cake and it was almost all back to
how it had been! She has been receiving professional help and knows
that she needs that as well as the atonement to fully heal. She's
already doing SO much better and even said she would come to the
church Christmas party on Saturday!
Miracle 2. Tuesday night we had a rdv with our ami who I will call
Sasha and her husband Henri. IT WAS SO GREAT. Sasha's husband has
always seen us come over but we always thought he was not interested
but that night we had dinner with them and he wouldn't stop asking
questions about the church. At the very beginning he asked us if we
were affiliated with the Mormons and when we said that's us it's like
something clicked in his head. It seemed as though he KNEW something.
He continued to tell us that he has worked with Mormons his whole
life--the owner/president and several other people in his company are
Mormons. He's gone to salt lake several times for work and he's even
seen the Washington, D.C. Temple (the best) and thought it was
magnificent. THEN he proceeds to tell us that Mormon missionaries came
over to his home when he was a child and taught his mom! THEN he said,
"I've had a Book of Mormon for years, I guess I'll have to read it
now." There's a Book of Mormon in the house?? We'd been trying to give
his wife one for several weeks now! Oh my goodness it was so cool. We
were talking about the ancient and modern organization of the church,
the restoration, modern prophets, the Book of Mormon, it was
wonderful. The spirit was so present. There's no way the spirit and
his ancestors weren't whispering to him that there was a reason he
kept meeting people with this church.
Miracle 3. Saturday we went to get hot chocolate with one of our
recent converts' daughters, Emmé who's not a member. She's the
sweetest 19 year old and she and her brother take care of their family
(father is very ill with cancer and mother works all the time). Life
is hard for the children because they're always busy, but they love
talking with us and seem to be yearning for the gospel that their
mother has found. It was so nice to spend a moment with her, and she
was able to come to the ward Christmas party later that night with her
brother!
Miracle 4. Not only did these people who we've been working with come
to our ward Christmas party this weekend, but another less active came
who we've been working with for so long and hasn't been to church in
several years!! She's the cutest woman and we've been wanting so badly
to have her prepare to go back to the temple and the fact that she set
foot in the chapel is huge. Now she will be more prepared to come back
to church!
Miracle 5. Nelly got a priesthood blessing from President Brown and it
was so beautiful. It was one of the most tender and sacred moments of
my mission. She is a special daughter of Heavenly Father.
There were lots of other wonderful miracles that happened but I am out
of time! I love you all and don't forget to show the Christmas video
with people and share your testimonies! Also don't forget my Christmas
challenge about sending mission stories/testimonies of Christ!
